About the exhibition: From Sun 11 to Fri 23 January 2026, 11am–2pm, Cat Scott MRSS Studio transforms her industrial studio into a white cube gallery, part of the Affiliate Programme for OUR TURN – Bradford's first visual art festival led by South Square Centre, alongside the Turner Prize exhibition post-Bradford 2025 UK City of Culture – this show is not to be missed. Free exhibition – booking essential, by appointment only (with 1+ days notice) with timeslot between 11am–2pm from 11–23 January 2026, to help Cat manage the exhibition. Bradford Museum and Galleries are recruiting a new cohort of Young Ambassadors aged 16-25 to help showcase Bradford’s historic heritage, renowned fine art collection and connections to everyone living in Bradford. As a Young Ambassador, you will:

Have access behind the scenes at all 4 museums (Bolling Hall Museum, Bradford Industrial Museum, Cartwright Hall Art Gallery, and Cliffe Castle Museum).
Receive training and support from experienced museum staff, shadow them and support their real-life projects.
Have your voice heard regarding the future of Museums.
Curate a new project.
Create film, blogs, and vlogs for their website.
Gain real industry skills to include on your CV, and professional references for future job applications.

These laid-back quarterly visual arts socials are hosted by Bradford Producing Hub’s Visual Arts Instigator, Alison McIntyre, and they’d love to see you for an evening of connection, conversation, and community over food and good company. Come along to meet fellow visual artists from Bradford and catch up with old friends! You can also donate any unused art materials and maybe pick up some new stuff at the Materials Swap Table. And there’ll be delicious hot food from Caterpillar Catering.

Setting a realistic business plan that allows you to thrive in your practice

Micro Capital Grants for Access

Location: Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, or Wakefield
Deadline: 11:59 PM on Wed 28 January

Grants for £5,000–£10,000 are available for improving access – whether you’re upgrading equipment, improving physical access, or creating more inclusive environments. This is the third and final round of funding from Unlimited in partnership with West Yorkshire Combined Authority, open to venues and community spaces located in Bradford, Calderdale, Kirklees, Leeds, and Wakefield.

This free, open development programme is designed to support diverse-led creative and cultural organisations by offering online sessions on improving skills, knowledge, and confidence on topics such as business development, governance, finances and fundraising. It also includes peer networking and mentoring opportunities. The programme offers:

A series of 10 two-hour long, free webinars from the leaders of diverse-led organisations and other experts from across the creative and cultural sector.

The chance for your chief executive, or equivalent post-holder, to be part of a Leadership Peer Network.

A free Strategy Support Programme where you can take part in expert led workshops, receive tailored guidance and practical support to develop business planning and fundraising models. You will also have a mentor to help you make the most of the programme.

Free places for 100 people on Arts Fundraising & Philanthropy’s Public Training Programme.

By diverse-led, ACE mean organisations where the majority (51% or more) of the board of trustees and senior leadership team are Black, Asian and ethnically diverse, disabled, female, LGBT+, or from a lower socio-economic background.

TUC Black Workers* Conference: Anti- Racism, Collective Power + Communities

TUC and Race Equality Network

In an era of rising far-right politics and growing inequality, solidarity and collective action are more important than ever. The TUC Black Workers Conference* brings together workers, organisers, activists, and allies to explore how we can build power, protect our communities, and fight racism in all its forms.

This conference is a space to learn, share, and organise, centring Black and Global Majority voices while fostering connections across movements. Join to discuss strategies for resistance, empower communities, and celebrate the power of collective action.

Lunch will be provided.

Note: For this event, TUC uses Black in the its broad, political sense: this includes people who self-identify as Black, Asian, or from any other minority ethnic background, and who do not identify as white.

The Comedy Café

The Comedy Café

Expect an afternoon packed with laughter and poetry, featuring some of Bradford’s finest local comedians and new acts, as well as acts from across the UK! This alcohol-free event offers a relaxed environment, where the comedy and poetry take centre stage. You can also sign up at the show to take part in the open mic for comedy, poetry, and spoken word acts.

Comedians: Co-hosts Bobby Jethro and Kash Kureshi, DeeJay Khalda, Naph Esa, Zee, Louis Etienne, and guest poet Mohamed Saloo.

Tickets start at £5.

Four Nations Outdoor Arts Bursary

Bradford Producing Hub

The Four Nations Outdoor Arts Bursary offers supported funding to emerging artists and companies to create new outdoor performance work. This work will be toured to festivals across all four nations throughout the summer of 2026.

The Four Nations Outdoor Arts Bursary includes:
• A budget of £5,000 for the creation of new outdoor performance work
• A fee of £150 per day, per person for performance days
• Professional mentoring from the associated festivals and partnership networks
• A residency in Brecon, Wales, in March 2026
• Travel, accommodation and per diems are provided for both the residency and the performance tour
• Support with access to appropriate rehearsal and creation space

This opportunity is for early-career performance makers and companies based in Bradford or that have a strong, demonstrable connection to the District, such as regularly making work here. While you don’t need to have made outdoor work previously, they expect applicants to have some experience of performance making for live audiences.
